Cardiac
CARE OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT
PROGRAM (COAP)

COAP is here to help cardiac patients and the people who care for them.

Hospitals and clinicians committed to improving patient care will find a collaborative partner and community in COAP. We are a non-profit physician-led organization in the Pacific Northwest that lets providers know how they’re doing as compared to peers across the region, and provides a safe forum for discussing challenges in cardiac care.

COAP collects clinical data to develop local knowledge. We understand our patient population and identify local expertise and promising practices to share across the region.

Washington State hospitals that perform percutaneous cardiac intervention (PCI) and/or adult cardiac surgery participate in COAP, plus a few sites outside the state. COAP is a Certified Quality Improvement Program (CQIP) under Washington State law.

PUBLIC REPORTING

As a demonstrated commitment to improving cardiac care and patient outcomes, all COAP member hospitals have agreed to the public reporting of hospital level data. The COAP Management Committee identifies and tracks key metrics that serve as indicators of quality care. These metrics are reported on our site’s public portal.
